While you are in the care of Fiona and Malcolm they will look after your Mind, Body and Spirit. They have become very good friends of mine; and meeting them both has been heaven sent.

The Old Mill House endeavours to ensure as far as possible that our activities have minimal impact upon the environment. Where possible we attempt to use local produce, use eco friendly products, we try to recycle our waste and all our kitchen waste is placed in our composter and wormery.

We are currently exploring to find a greener energy supplier for our gas and electricity. We support, use and promote local produce, food and drink where ever possible. Some of our current local suppliers are: Modbury Farm at Burton Bradstock, who have their own Jersey herd producing un-pasturised real milk. We always try to source fresh fruit and vegetables such as the delicious Bothen Hill Produce from local suppliers and organic farms. We use Leakers Bakery when we need to provide organic and wheat free speciality breads and cakes. We also buy produce from Bridports, famous high street markets on a Wednesday and a Saturday as well as the various Farmers' Markets.

In time we plan to grow our own fruit, vegetables & herbs for the Mill's use. We currently use the eggs from our own free range chickens and we will do our utmost to accommodate your special dietary requirements, so, please do talk to us and we will see what we can do. Long term, we plan to be making preserves and enjoying the home grown food from our own land.

Water & Energy conservation We use where possible energy efficient light bulbs. We wash the clothes at lower temperatures and switch off lights in unoccupied rooms. We have installed secondary glazing as double glazing is not permitted in grade II buildings. As, we purchased or replaced electrical appliances we have sourced more Eco-friendly A & B rated appliances.

We hope to reduce our water usage with our dual flush toilets, we will be installing a water butt for watering flowers and we encourage our guests to reduce the number of towels used during their stay with a friendly notice explaining about the impact on the environment.
