While you are in the care of Fiona and Malcolm they will look after your Mind, Body and Spirit. They have become very good friends of mine; and meeting them both has been heaven sent.

The Old Mill House endeavours to ensure as far as possible that our activities have minimal impact upon the environment. Where possible we attempt to use local produce, use eco- friendly products, we try to recycle all our kitchen waste, i.e. the best of all our vegetable and fruit waste is given to our free range chickens and all other food waste is placed in our composter.

We are currently exploring to find a greener energy supplier for our gas and electricity. We support, use and promote local produce, food and drink where ever possible. Some of our current local suppliers are: Modbury Farm at Burton Bradstock, who have their own Jersey herd producing un-pasteurised real milk. We always try to source fresh fruit and vegetables such as the delicious Bothen Hill Produce from local suppliers and organic farms. We use Leakers Bakery who provide organic and wheat free speciality breads and cakes. We also buy produce from Bridport’s, famous high street markets on a Wednesday and a Saturday as well as the various Farmers' Markets.

We have given our vegetable patch to a local man who was waiting for an allotment to become available. We have come to an ideal arrangement with him, and we now receive some of the produce without the hard and time-consuming work. We have a fruit orchard where the chickens roam freely but are fenced into a third of an acre so we can enjoy the rest of the garden. We still grow our own herbs for the Mill's use. We give the majority of our eggs from our free range chickens to friends and neighbours to enjoy as neither of us really eat the eggs but love the “Girls”/hen’s enjoying the Good Life!

Although we do not offer anything other than cereals, if asked for, in advance of your stay, we will do our utmost to accommodate any special dietary requirements or needs, so, please do talk to us and we will see what we can do. We now bake our own bread and long term, we plan to be making preserves and enjoying all the home grown food from our own land.
